Research shows that ShotSpotter, a platform by SoundThinking, Inc., often fails to make communities safer and frequently misidentifies loud noises as gunshots, leading to increased and sometimes fatal police encounters with civilians. Campaign Zero launched the national Cancel ShotSpotter campaign to urge communities to reconsider using this costly and unreliable technology.
