In a major effort to enhance transparency, the Criminal Activity and Nuisance Ordinances (CANOs) Campaign successfully filed FOIA requests across more than 100 jurisdictions using MuckRock. As a result, the campaign has greatly improved public access to vital information, which is now publicly available through MuckRock, promoting greater accountability and transparency within these jurisdictions.

The CANOs campaign has revealed that numerous cities in California continue to use nuisance property ordinances, despite these policies being illegal in the state.
